Don’t Buy Into These “Trends” About Mirrored Bedside Tables

Dining-room Redesign!

When you like something in your house, do you tend to deal with it untouched for a long time or do you have a tendency to walk past it every day while it fades into the background? Sort of like being at your Grandma's home where it seems like the same furniture has remained in the very same sport for your entire life? It's familiar; it's comfy.

I know that sensation, just my comfy pal remained in the type of a mirror that hung on the dining space wall – for about 9 years that's way too comfy. I've traded out almost every piece of furnishings under it and around it except for the table itself. Well, it was time to change things up! It worked for a very long time until I got tired of not being able to take photos without having the reflection of myself or the kitchen. So, out it went. Rather, I hung the framed chalkboard that I managed making a trade with another supplier back in September when I did a vintage market. I likewise just recently discovered the pegged racks for a steal and included a few of my ironstone plates. I may include cups to the left side as well; it's a proportion thing with me.

The room is a mix of brand-new, old, handmade, re-purposed and thrift shop and estate sale discovers. The chandelier was painted a few years back, and I'm trying to choose if I wish to keep it or change it. Hence the factor I have not rewired it to hang lower. We have high vaulted ceilings, so it's up quite high given that I swagged it.

The carpet is from Pottery Barn this previous year, and the table we've had for about 10 years or more. The buffet was a light wood colour and was the very first piece of bed room furnishings I purchased as a single woman many years ago. I cut the legs down and painted it when I moved it to act as the buffet.

I made or reupholstered/painted a few products in this space myself, including the drapes, the upholstered bench and pillow, the wreath and the reupholstered antique chair in the corner which you can check out about here.

All the ironstone was either found at estate sales or thrift shops. The last thing on our list for this room aside from the light fixture are installing brand-new baseboards due to the fact that we pulled all of them out to change our floorings a couple of months back and have not navigated to that project yet. Finally, those beautiful spring flowers were a present from the spouse a couple of days back. He's a sweetheart and said they were "simply because" and he desired me to know that he loved me, how sweet is that?
